Mona Sampath Dance Company’s Fall Student Showcase a Tremendous Success
SF Bay Area’s hottest and largest Bollywood dance company rocked the stage with more than 600 students performing in front of sold-out auditorium.

Mona Sampath Dance Company (MSDC)’s first ever Fall Dance Showcase featured students of the company’s Bollywood dance classes as well as the company’s very own Emerging Performers and Professional Dance Troupe. They performed in front of packed audience who were left amazed after the show. Students with ages ranging from three year old tots to the senior citizen group fondly known as Jollywood truly looked like they were having a blast on stage. Notable performances included the students from Jeena, an organization for children with special needs.

Mona Sampath, Inc. (MSI) presents its first Dance Showcase on Sunday, November 15, 2009 at the India Community Center in Milpitas, CA. The show will feature performances by:
* MSI’s 600 students from 15 locations across the Bay Area
* Jeena, a non-profit organization for children with special needs
* The Company’s Emerging Performers
* The Company’s Professional Dance Troupe
The company will present three different shows on November 15th, 2009 and MSI’s dance students will have the opportunity to perform in a professional setting after nine weeks of intensive training. The company’s students range from children as young as 3 years to the senior citizens group known as Jollywood. MSI’s professional troupe will present dance pieces as varied as Hip-Hop and Contemporary Jazz all in the company’s signature Bollywood-style.

No, that wasn’t an earthquake you felt July 3 — that was a stampede of Bollywood fans, eager to catch a glimpse of Shah Rukh Khan. The Fairmont Hotel was abuzz till the early morning hours as Khan made an appearance to meet his admirers, snap photos and answer a few probing questions along the lines of “Can I see your six-pack?”
He even danced. Khan, who had been holding court onstage in one of the hotel’s huge ballrooms, stepped down to the dance floor to join the Mona Sampath Dance Troupe and gyrate to “Love mera hit hit” and other iconic songs, as the crowd strained on tiptoe for a better look.
